Historic Fort Myers Home Outdoor LIghting Design
This Fort Myers outdoor lighting project brought new life to a classic Old Florida–style home just off historic McGregor Boulevard. The homeowner wanted the residence and its mature landscape to feel warm, welcoming, and beautifully illuminated after dark—while preserving the character and charm of the property.
The outdoor lighting design focused on balance between architectural and landscape illumination. The upper façade was softly accented using wash lighting to highlight the home’s lines and craftsmanship, while subtle downlighting was introduced beneath the wraparound porch to create a comfortable, inviting glow without glare. Pendant fixtures at the entry add a refined focal point, guiding guests naturally toward the front door.
In the front yard, mature oak trees were carefully up lit to reveal their structure and canopy, adding depth and scale to the landscape. In areas without planting beds, in-grade well lights were seamlessly integrated into the lawn to maintain a clean, unobtrusive appearance while still delivering effective illumination.
The result is a timeless lighting design that respects the home’s historic character while enhancing curb appeal, safety, and nighttime ambiance. What was once lost in darkness now glows with understated elegance—an ideal example of how thoughtful outdoor lighting can elevate a classic Fort Myers residence.
